Police Trading Card Program

The Morton Police Department would like to announce our new community policing program, police trading cards, along with an accompanying contest.

The department currently has a total of 16 different trading cards which involve Morton Police officers, other Police personnel and a mystery card! Participating department members are being issued 500-1000 cards each, which they will normally have with them while on duty.  Each card has a photograph of the officer on the front, along with a biography on the back. The primary goal of this program is to teach the children that our officers are friendly, helpful, and approachable, while giving participants a chance to get to meet police officers in the community!

Children are invited to participate in our trading card contest, in which the goal is to collect one of every card. Each person who would like to participate in this program will be given a Police trading card containing a check box with all of the names/cards required to complete their collection! We understand that it may take some time to collect each card, particularly since our patrol officers work rotating shifts, may be off duty, or in training.  It is important that children only approach officers when they are not actively involved in a police call such as a car stop, interviewing witnesses, or directing traffic.  Children are encouraged to wave down officers to obtain a trading card, or they and their families are even welcome to stop into the police station at 500 Highland Avenue.

There will also be one mystery card.  Announcements will be made on the Morton Police Facebook Page with times and clues for participants to get the mystery card!

Once all 16 cards are collected, the child is requested to stop in police headquarters with their full card set.  All participants will receive a prize and will be listed on the Morton Police Department website; however, the first three participants to collect all 16 cards will receive special prizes.  Further information regarding the contest will be posted on the Morton Police Department website: https://mortonpolice.com/
